Day 1

Fly to Marrakesh, where you'll be met and taken to your riad in the medina or hotel in the Palmeraie via private transfer.

Day 2

Enjoy a tour of historical Marrakesh, including the Saadien Tombs and the Badi and Bahia Palaces. You will have the afternoon free to discover the medina independently.

Day 3

You have the morning at leisure, then this afternoon it's time to dine! Enjoy a tasting tour today, including wandering through the souks with a guide to discover the culinary delights of this city, followed by eating in Jemaa el-Fna this evening.

Day 4

Spend most of the day relaxing or exploring under your own steam, or we can arrange another excursion – if you're a fan of gardens there's an excellent excursion taking you to some of the city's hidden leafy corners.

Day 5

You have a private transfer up to the Atlas Mountains today. Most of the hotels we work with are within one or two hours of Marrakesh, so the transfer will be relatively short but you can stop along the way to admire the scenery.

Days 6-7

You have today free, so you can stay put and relax in your hotel, or you can head out to hike a trail or explore a local Berber village. Guides can be arranged locally at a very low cost, or we can put together a tour for you.

Day 8

You have private transfer to the atmospheric seaside town of Essaouira today. The drive takes roughly three hours, and on the way there will be an opportunity to stop at a women's argan oil cooperative.

Days 9-10

Essaouira is easy and rewarding to explore on your own, and boasts miles of stunning beach too. If you like fresh fish this is an ideal place for you as the local dishes here are delicious!

Day 11

You'll be taken back to Marrakesh via private transfer for your return flight.

Holidays combining time in Marrakesh with a few days in the High Atlas mountains followed by the pretty seaside town of Essaouira are understandably popular. In less than a fortnight you can enjoy experiences as diverse as haggling in the souqs of Marrakesh, drinking mint tea in remote mountain villages and strolling along dramatic battlements overlooking the Atlantic.

With transfer time being no more than three hours at a time there also won’t be too much of your holiday wasted on car journeys getting from place to place.
