The High Atlas Mountains drive a snow-capped ridge across the middle of Morocco, dividing the Mediterranean-facing north of the country from the arid valleys of the south. They are home to Jebel Toubkal, at 4,167 metres, the highest mountain in North Africa, and a relatively easy accomplishment for amateur mountaineers. For most people, two to three days in the High Atlas give you the chance to relax in stunning surroundings, enjoy some beautiful, characterful accommodation, and to immerse yourself in traditional Berber village life.
