The owners of Jnane Tamsna, Meryanne and Gary, are respectively a luxury villa designer and a keen landscaper, both with an extensive travelling CV and an interest in the Islamic world: as befits this marriage, Jnane Tamsna is a delightful retreat, decorated with a range of beautiful artwork and set amidst stunning gardens. There are three buildings housing the rooms, and the décor ranges from African-inspired, through traditional Moroccan, to more contemporary. There are libraries stacked with tomes on Africa and Asia, with inviting chairs to sink into, and every piece of furniture or artwork throughout the hotel has been chosen and placed in such a way as to convey sophistication and luxury without ever feeling forced or too considered. The extensive gardens, as well as providing lots of fresh produce for the talented chefs, also provide somewhere to wander, sit, and contemplate in wonderful peace.
