Day 1
Fly overnight to Johannesburg.
Day 2
Connect with a short flight to Windhoek, where you'll be picked up and transferred into the city to pick up your hire car. After a briefing it's time for the first of many scenic drives, over the stunning Gamsberg Pass for a two night stay amidst the imposing Naukluft Mountains.
Day 3
After plenty of travelling so far, today can be as active or relaxing as you choose. This is a lovely area for unguided walks, while you might also want to book a guided nature drive or a horse riding excursion.
Day 4
It's south today to the heart of the Namib Desert for a two night stay close to the towering dunes of Sossusvlei.
Day 5
A chance to visit the highlights of the area under your own steam. You might want to climb Dune 45 and visit Sesriem Canyon, but a walk on Dead Vlei is an absolute must!
Day 6
Today's drive goes north to the coastal town of Swakopmund, for a two night stay amidst the wild Atlantic and some charming German colonial architecture.
Day 7
There are varied excursions that we can book for you here, including quad biking, dolphin watching catamaran cruises and kayaking with seals.
Day 8
Back east to Windhoek today, for a one night stay at a welcoming guesthouse.
Day 9
After breakfast and a relaxing morning you'll drive to the airport and drop off your hire car, before a short flight to Johannesburg. Your flight home travels through the night.
Day 10
Arrive in the UK.

While Namibia’s highlights are abundant and widespread, it is possible to enjoy a short visit that gives a taster of what makes the country special and will leave you hungry for a second visit. Sweeping, picturesque landscapes combining desert, coast and mountains are perhaps what Namibia is most famous for, and this itinerary has them in abundance. A self-drive trip, time on the road is relatively short and stirringly scenic!
