Those adventurous souls who make it to Masirah, having crossed deserts and oceans to an island seemingly at the very edge of the map may be surprised when they arrive at the Masirah Island Resort to find wireless internet access, air-conditioning and all the comforts of the modern world. There’s a pool and Jacuzzi, as well as a gym – by usual standards it’s a decent but simple hotel, however in the context of its remote location it will feel like the Four Seasons! It’s very near a turtle nesting beach and seconds from the ocean which provides the backdrop to so much of Masirah’s appeal.
