Day 1
Depart on your overnight flight to Cape Town.
Day 2
Upon arrival into Cape Town you are privately transferred to your hotel for a three night stay. As you arrive in the morning, you have the rest of the afternoon to explore and get a falvour of the city.
Day 3
For a those who are visiting Cape Town for a second time, then we recommend a visit the District Six Museum and Castle of Good Hope or for the more adventurous a walk up to the Silvermine Nature Reserve Waterfall.
Day 4
Spend a full day exploring the beautiful Cape Peninsula or if travelling during Spring we highly recommend Kirstenbosch Gardens for witnessing the stunning array of flowers in bloom.
Day 5
Leaving Cape Town you travel north into the Cederberg Mountains for a three night stay.
Day 6
Time at your own pace in the Cederberg Mountains. Take a walk in the predator-free reserve, paddle a canoe down the river, or take a guided tour to see some wonderful Bushman rock art.
Day 7
Continue your exploration of the Cederberg with a nature drive and perhaps rounding off your stay with a gin or winetasting evening.
Day 8
Your journey continues further north into Namaqualand for a two night stay, where you get to experience the spectacle of the Namaqua National Park.
Day 9
If you're travelling during Spring (Aug-Oct) then you will have the joy of experiencing the landscape in full bloom. Enjoy a walk or jeep tour through this breathtaking region.
Day 10
Heading inland, you reach Upington for an overnight stay.
Day 11
Your journey culminates with a spectacular three night stay at Tswalu for an epic safari adventure.
Day 12
Tswalu is South Africa's largest private reserve at over 110,000 hectares and houses over 80 mammal species across the Kalahari and arid Savannah. Enjoy a Boma dinner or experience the luxury of the Klein JAN culinary journey.
Day 13
As well as the sensational game viewing, spotting animals you might not see elsewhere, you can experience a night under the stars in an open air room, take guided walks through the desert and explore the San history through a Rock Art tour.
Day 14
Departing Tswalu, you return to Upington, where you board the domestic flight to Johannesburg and then connect on home to the UK. For an additional cost, you can take the lightaircraft direct from Tswalu to Johannesburg.

If you are after a journey to explore some of South Africa’s lesser-seen destinations, then this is the itinerary for you. Travel to Cape Town and whether this is your first, second or third visit, we’re sure there is more still to explore from Kirstenbosch Gardens to District Six and Constantia to the Silvermine Nature Reserve waterfall. Leaving the city you make your way into the Cederberg Mountains where you can walk through the reserve, explore the Bushman Rock art and paddle a canoe down the river. Travelling further north, you reach Namaqualand, famous for its spring flowers (Aug-Oct) and coastal scenery. Heading inland, you have an overnight in Upington before arriving in the southern Kalahari Desert for a safari experience like no other – reclining in comfort, with the most amazing backdrop, at Tswalu Kalahari.
