Hotel B is without doubt the most characterful place to stay in Lima. Set in the bohemian Barranco district of the city, this elegant mansion house served as one-time holiday home for notable Lima families during the 1920s, and its careful restoration has ensured that it still retains much of the original spirit of the house, as well as many period features. The nature of the house does mean that entry-level ‘alcoba’ rooms are on the smaller side, but all are beautifully furnished and feature some of the countless works of art on display throughout the hotel. We particularly love the leisurely breakfasts served until 11 am in the shady courtyard, as well as the hotel’s tranquil rooftop terrace
