A pilgrimage site revered by Christians and visited by the last two popes on their travels to the region. The hilltop location offers amazing views over the Jordan river and towards the Holy Land, and it is the spot from which Moses is said to have first glimpsed the Holy Land as he led the Exodus from Egypt. It is also believed to be where he is buried. There is an ancient church here that boasts superb mosaics, which has recently been resorted and this coupled with the amazing views makes this a worthwhile stop.
