With six inlets on the Cauvery River, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a small sanctuary with an area of less than one square kilometre. It’s just a 13km drive from Mysore but the density of birds found here is incredibly high; with painted stork, spoonbill, heron and partridge sightings almost guaranteed. Crocodiles are also found within Ranganathittu and we feel the best way to enjoy the variety and density of wildlife is by boat. There’s also a small garden, which makes for a relaxing break and short walk.
