A charming and great value hotel in a peaceful hillside location, Lomas del Volcan is one of our favourite places to stay in Arenal. It manages to combine a remoter feel setting and yet is easily accessible to La Fortuna town and local restaurants, if you wish, by taxi. Furnished in local wood, the hotel’s modern en-suite, air conditioned bungalows are dotted around manicured gardens where you can enjoy superb views of the volcano from your terrace if the weather is clear. There are two delightful swimming pools, a jacuzzi and swim-up bar where you can relax. There is also a short nature trail to enjoy in your free time between excursions. Lomas offers a beautiful restaurant with panoramic volcano views as well as a more casual bar/restaurant closer to the pool, with excellent quality food served through the day in both.
