Day 1
Depart on an overnight flight to Vietnam
Day 2
Arrive to Hanoi today, where you will be met by your private driver and guide. Head to your hotel, check in and spend the afternoon relaxing and shaking off any jetlag. We suggest taking a stroll around the Old Quarter or enjoy a Water Puppet Show this evening.
Day 3
Your day begins with a city tour with a private guide. This half day tour will uncover the culture and history of Hanoi, ending with a visit to the either the Fine Arts or Women's Museum in the city. The afternoon is free to explore the city, visit Hoan Kiem Lake or relax. This evening we have included a fun street food tour of the city by vintage vespa!
Day 4
Set off in the morning with your driver and guide, travelling southwest to the Mai Chau Valley. This picturesque area is dotted with ethnic minority villages, fertile farmland, emerald rice paddies, caves and karst mountains. The afternoon will be spent exploring on foot or by bicycle with your guide.
Day 5
Today is free to explore the area further without your guide. We recommend a morning trek to some of the more remote villages and an afternoon cooking experience. Alternatively, kick back and relax by the pool whilst taking in the beautiful views.
Day 6
Head further through rural Vietnam this morning on a 4 hour transfer to the ancient capital of Hoa Lu in Ninh Binh. Enjoy a local lunch in Tam Coc town before a sampan boat cruise along the Thung Nham valley. For the adventurous you can climb up to Bich Dong Pagoda before heading to your hotel to relax or continue exploring the local sights.
Day 7
You will be transferred by your driver to Halong Bay early this morning where you will board your boat for an incredible overnight cruise around the towering limestone karsts. The cruise includes full board and a range of optional activities including kayaking, cooking classes, squid fishing, visits to caves or floating villages and stops at remote beaches.
Day 8
Wake up in the middle of the bay, enjoying a Tai Chi lesson as the sun rises on Halong. The morning will be spent enjoying more cruising and sightseeing before heading back to port for your short flight to Saigon. Arrive in the city, check in to your hotel and head out for dinner and drinks.
Day 9
Good morning Saigon! Start your day with our favourite tour of the city, exploring with your guide in an open style local van, similar to a tuk tuk! You will visit the local park, enjoy a traditional coffee at the bird park, wander around the wet and dry markets and stop to enjoy a delicious bowl of Pho. The rest of the day is free for you to explore or we can add in additional sightseeing.
Day 10
Leave the city behind, travelling deep in to the Mekong Delta for a wonderful full day tour. Travel by boat around the canals and streams, stroll along the country lanes and see the locals producing traditional goods, growing tropical fruits and going about their daily routines.
Day 11
After a leisurely breakfast it's time to hit the beach for some well deserved relaxation - you can take a short flight to Con Dao Island or Phu Quoc Island, transfer 3 hours by road to Phan Thiet & Mui Ne or take a short 1 hour drive to Ho Tram. On this 16 day tour, you will arrive in Hanoi to soak up a slice of city life and indulge in some incredible street food before heading towards the countryside of Mai Chau and Ninh Binh to experience the quintessence of Vietnam. Sail by sampan boat through breathtaking valleys, cycle through glistening paddy fields and finish your Nothern adventure with a cruise around the emerald waters of Halong Bay. After a cultural immersion, continue South to the buzzing city of Saigon for a taste of Colonial charm before escaping to the white sand beaches on Phu Quoc Island to laze away your final 5 nights. Alternatively, you can enjoy a blissful stay on Con Dao Island, Mui Ne, Phan Thiet or Ho Tram – the choices for relaxation are endless in Vietnam!

This tour skips the old town of Hoi An and historical Hue due to the poor weather over the winter months, however, both destinations can be added in on request (just bring a brolly with you!).

For those looking for a beach break between March to September, we can also tailor this to include a stay on the sun-kissed beaches of Nha Trang, Danang and Hoi An.

2 nights Hanoi – 2 nights Mai Chau – 1 night Ninh Binh – overnight cruise around Halong Bay (2 days/1 night, full board) – 3 nights Saigon – 5 nights Beach Break in Mui Ne, Phu Quoc, Con Dao or Ho Tram
