Cinnamon Wild is a well-located and low-key safari lodge, just 10 minutes from the entrance to Yala National Park and a stone’s throw from Sri Lanka’s coastline. It’s a beautiful property that boasts 68 rooms, which sprawl peacefully across the 10-acre estate. It rarely feels crowded; instead it feels serene and is suited to families and couples alike. The central communal area includes a pool, a shady terrace, an observation deck and an open-sided restaurant. It’s the perfect base for jeep safari’s in leopard heavy Yala, but there’s also bird watching and guided walks available.
There are two types of chalet: Jungle and Beach. They are similar in terms of décor and facilities; think cosy interiors with exposed wood and white linens. The Beach Chalets are more suited to couples as they are stilted with partial views of the ocean. The Jungle Chalets are peppered through the grounds. These are more family friendly.
