The original owner and creator of Four Rosmead used to be a successful businessman, and as a result has a lot of experience of hotels and guesthouses. He put this to great use in creating the perfect guesthouse, built on a marriage of classic design with modern comfort, and a meticulous eye for detail. Each of the eight bedrooms is individually designed, with soft, earthy colours brightened with spots of dramatic reds and greens; the public areas are understated and welcoming, and the overall feel is of staying at a particularly tasteful friend’s house. Impressive artwork from local artists is spread around the house, and is available for sale. Breakfasts are hearty and well-cooked, and the staff will look after you superbly. The other fantastic thing about Four Rosmead is the location, near the trendy Long and Kloof Streets, where you’ll find great restaurants, bars, cafes and boutique shops. The very helpful team will be able to suggest somewhere to eat or shop for almost every taste and every budget.
