Those with a sense of adventure will find the opportunity to stay with a local family on Lake Titicaca a truly memorable experience. After a scenic boat trip from Puno you will arrive in the afternoon and be introduced to your host family and explore your surroundings before nightfall. We typically arrange for you to stay on Amantani Island or the Llachon Peninsula due to their tranquillity and the authenticity of the homestay experiences here, and tourists are accommodated in rotation between the family homes in each community. Facilities are basic in the family homes, as you would expect, and little English is spoken but if you have a few words of Spanish you will have a great opportunity to converse with your hosts! You will also be served a hearty evening meal and breakfast the following morning before you return to Puno.
