One of our favourite properties in Fez, with a huge inner courtyard, complete with heated pool that is blessed with the sun nearly all day long, Riad Mayfez is a beautiful high-end property in the centre of the city. It feels a lot more open than many other properties across Morocco, and the rooms – all suites – are on average much larger too, all individually designed and with decadent touches such as luxury bathtubs and huge beds.

The owners, who are a couple that created the name as a play on the word Mayfair, a part of London they have loved spending time in, have clearly put a lot of work into making the property a delightful place the stay. There is a spa and hammam here, afternoon tea is served on the terraces, both modern and traditionally Moroccan options are available for dining, and hospitality standards are high.
