The hotel was opened in 2023 as part of the Tokyo Kabukicho Tower – an entertainment complex of hotels, restaurants and shops – so it has a fresh and contemporary feel. As the hotel sits above these outlets, on floors 18 to 38, without doubt the main attraction of staying here are the incredible views of Tokyo’s lovable chaos that you can soak up from the floor-to-ceiling windows found in all of the rooms (albeit more impressive the further you go up, of course!) Rooms otherwise feel straightforward with all the usual amenities you would expect – air conditioning, rain showers, a fridge and Wi-Fi – so don’t expect the in-room experience to blow you away, but Groove is nevertheless a solid option for those who value location and convenience.
On the lower floor and indeed steps away from Groove’s front door you’ll find a huge amount of eateries to keep your evenings busy, all bubbling over with the buzz that Shinjuku is known for. You are five or so minutes walk away from Shinjuku Station, making the rest of Tokyo, other day trips outside the city, and further stops on your Japan adventure easily accessible.
