Day 1
Fly to San Jose today. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your mountainous hotel in the central valley.
Day 2
Enjoy a visit to a local home and learn how Costa Rican food is prepared using traditional ways. Doña Elida will share with you her culinary secrets making “gallo pinto” the national dish of Costa Rica in her wood stove! This authentic and delicious experience is a must for foodies.
Day 3
Travel to Boca Tapada, which is far from the beaten tourist path. This is an area that true eco-travellers embrace for its natural beauty and tranquility.
Day 4
IIncluded in your stay is the use of canoes on the lagoon, as well as the opportunity to support sustainable tourism by planting a tree in the rainforest (on request). There are other tours available at a cost directly with the hotel such as; a guided night walk, birdwatching tours with a naturalist guide, boat safaris and boat tours down the San Carlos River.
Day 5
In addition to the 500 or so species of birds here, encountering a roving band of coatimundis might make your day too!
Day 6
Transfer to the Arenal, which is the home of the stunning Arenal volcano and rainforest region; look out for the volcano's imposing peak when the weather is clear! Now it is time to enjoy a wealth of adventure activities. 
Day 7
Arenal Volcano's forest is home to many sloths. Go looking for them together with your guide, who will know their favourite spots to relax.
Day 8
A visit into the Arenal Volcano national park to walk amongst the lava with time to relax in nearby hot springs.
Day 9
Today take the scenic transfer from Arenal to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. This evening you will be collected for your night tour in the Monteverde reserve, to look for the creatures of the cloud forest after dark.
Day 10
Visit a superb cloud forest adventure centre where you can explore canopy walkways suspended in the tree tops and try some further zip lining - take a leap of faith on the tarzan swing if you are feeling brave!
Day 11
Today's tour takes you to the Caribbean Sloth Sanctuary at Selvatura Park, where you'll join a sloth expert to observe rescued sloths in their natural environment. The sanctuary promotes education and conservation, providing a safe haven for sloths affected by poaching, habitat loss, and other threats.
Day 12
Travel south to Manuel Antonio, and visit some crocodiles en route on the famous Tarcoles River, now it is time to complete your holiday with a few days of relaxation on the beach.
Day 13
Today’s half-day tour will begin on the Paquita River. With its gentle currents and a verdant forest canopy which attracts plentiful birds and lively capuchin monkeys. Your guide will explain the unique ecosystems in the brackish waters and mangroves here as you glide along by kayak.
Day 14
Relaxing at your hotel on the beach.
Day 15
Your final day on the coast, take in the magnificent sunset
Day 16
Transfer to the international airport today for your flight back to the UK.
