Huntsville is located in the heart of Ontario’s Muskoka region and is a good base for a number of activities. Just outside the town Arrowhead Provincial Park provides a number of walking trails and the sandy beach-fringed Arrowhead Lake. Further afield, the Algonquin Park Gate is about a 30 minute drive away and the visitor centre an hour away therefore if you want to spend time in the park it is easily accessible from here. The area is famous for it’s scenic lakes and boating culture and you can learn more about it and even go for a cruise on a traditional steamship at the Muskoka Boating and Heritage Centre in nearby Gravenhurst. About an hour west Parry Sound offers some lovely scenery and a selection of water based activities such as canoeing, kayaking, swimming or scenic cruises amongst the islands and narrow passages of the Sound.
