The remote rolling Patagonian steppe is what many people first think of when they are considering visiting Argentina. Its vast plains and dramatic panoramas roamed by gauchos and dotted with lakes and glaciers are the perfect antidote to modern life and a mecca for anyone who loves wide open spaces and being outdoors in a beautiful wilderness. Look out for condors gliding above over ancient forests and lake valleys or perhaps see chunks of ice crashing into lake waters below.

This journey heads from the elegant charms of Buenos Aires which is the perfect place to experience the classic Argentine Tango down south into two key gateways to Patagonia, both north and south. First explore the dazzling lakes and hiking country around Bariloche with options for leisurely days or more active adventures if you wish. Then explore the Glaciers National Park at Perito Moreno and Upsala Glacier from a traditional ranch visit.
