The Wallawwa is a super stylish 18 room boutique property just a 15 minute drive from Colombo’s international airport.  Set within a 5-acre garden, this converted 200-year-old manor house is a dreamy way to begin or end your time in Sri Lanka, with a resplendent pool enveloped by fragrant foliage and large comfortable beds with crisp white sheets.  There’s a spa, a library, WIFI, and a fine dining restaurant serving Asian fusion cuisine on the veranda. The Wallawwa isn’t technically within the city so if you want to go sightseeing this one isn’t for you. If you want to relax in comfort before or after a flight then it definitely is.

There are four categories to choose from: the Wallawwa Bedrooms, the Garden Suites, The Family Suite and The Mountbatten Suite. The Wallawwa Bedrooms are a little on the small side but they do have king-size four-poster beds, jewel coloured soft furnishings, air-conditioning, and a terrazzo en-suite wet room. These are ideal for a one-night stay or as a day room. The Garden Suites come with a private veranda, they are larger in size and there’s the option to have twin beds as well. The Family Suite is much larger again with a king-size bed and two four-poster single beds. The Mountbatten Suite is huge with two bedrooms, a large living area and a private pool.
