Passikudah is a coastal town on Sri Lanka’s idyllic east coast; the region is said to have one of the longest stretches of shallow coastline in the world making the ocean both beautiful and generally safe to swim in. It was once a very popular tourist destination, however visitor numbers diminished during the civil war and because of the 2004 Tsunami. The good news is that the area has very recently opened back up to tourism so it’s quiet, secluded and ideal for some rest and relaxation during a tour of Sri Lanka. We love it.
