Located in the Spionkop Game Reserve, Spionkop Lodge offers simple, rustic hospitality. Rough-hewn stone walls are capped with green roofs, and wooden floors are complemented by period furnishings and comfortable beds. There are game drives on offer to see the antelope and plains game of the reserve, but the main focus is on battlefield tours. As the name suggests, the lodge is near the haunting site of the battle of Spionkop, and the lodge focuses primarily on the Anglo-Boer wars. So tours include Spionkop, but also Ladysmith and the site of Churchill’s capture by the Boers.
