Lairds Lodge offers a slice of African country living on an intimate estate between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. Housed in a traditional Cape Dutch farmstead, with thatched roofs and the distinctive curved gables, the lodge is decorated with African art pieces. Walls are painted rich African colours: oranges and deep reds, which complement the earthen tones and dark woods of the furnishings. Reed ceilings, shady verandahs and palm-fringed ponds complete the African experience. Dining is meant to be an experience here, with a menu focused on venison, seafood and locally sourced produce. There is a wine cellar, which is a great venue for wine tasting or for a romantic meal. Service is warm and friendly, and a stay at Lairds will be both relaxing and comfortable.
