De Kelders is a small town on the Whale Coast, some way north of Hermanus, on the coast of Walker Bay; and as the name suggests, Cliff Lodge is literally right on the very edge of Walker Bay. All the rooms have some view of the bay, and some also look out along the shore or over the surrounding, lushly vegetated mountains. It’s a very beautiful spot, and there aren’t many hotels that are this close to the ocean: whale spotting from your deck whilst enjoying breakfast is almost guaranteed in whale season. The lodge is modern and stylish, using dark woods, earthen tones and crisp white linen: the experience is like being the house guest of a particularly tasteful friend, and given its location, Cliff Lodge is ideally suited for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet.
