For nature and wildlife enthusiasts alike, the 3-4 hour journey through the forest to the Tambopata Research Centre is well worth the effort! One of the key draws of the remarkable lodge is that is located next to the world’s largest macaw clay lick. A visit here is the most colourful experience, and will be likely to be one of your lasting memories of your time in Peru.

Although rustic  in style, the lodge is simple in the beautiful sense of the word. Rooms have now been upgraded and are mostly ensuite and very comfortable and have just three walls, giving uninterrupted views of the forest and it’s wildlife. Hammocks are interspersed with rustic dark wooden furniture and a comfortable dining area. The new comfort rooms and suites are surpirsingly elegant for the remote location, making this suitable for all who like comfort but especially don’t want to compromise on wildlife. Food is a surprisingly high standard, and buffets of Peruvian and international meals all included during your stay.
