The most luxurious accommodation in the Mushara portfolio, Outpost is an exclusive tented camp a little further away from the park than the original Mushara Lodge. There are eight stylish tented rooms on elevated wooden foundations, nestled in manicured gardens on the banks of a dry riverbed. All have small private decks for afternoon relaxation, and en-suite bathrooms with wooden floors and a fully enclosed walk-in shower that permits views out to the bush. Inside, the style is minimal and airy, with glass sliding doors allowing plenty of light to get in while air-conditioning and subtle colour tones keep the rooms cool.

The large, exquisite main building is styled like an old farmhouse, with an open layout, high corrugated iron roof and a wide veranda. Décor inside though is relatively contemporary, with polished floors, black and white photography, luxurious sofas, glass cabinets and a grand dining table. Meals and drinks can be enjoyed around a campfire in the gardens, where there is also an inviting swimming pool, all lending Mushara Outpost an undeniably sophisticated air. There is some wildlife on the reserve itself, but activities will usually take place in Etosha, either with a guide or self-driving at leisure.
