Perhentian Island Resort is located on the biggest island of the archipelago within 25 acres of natural rainforests and a pristine beachfront setting offering breathtaking sea views.
One of the oldest resorts on the island, the Perhentian Island Resort is still a firm favourite for us given the long stretches of pristine sand and excellent snorkelling directly from the beach. The grounds could do with some maintenance and the food is certainly not the main draw (though breakfast has a good spread!) but on our recent visit we were pleased to see that the quaint guestrooms are currently being refurbished to offer a simple, modern accommodations. Older rooms still have a quirky island vibe with traditional furniture and local textiles. Newer rooms feature upgraded air-con units and rather bland yet clean interiors. The service at the resort is excellent and the prime location allows guests to walk around the headland to enjoy a choice of restaurants and bars along the beachfront. Boats can also easily be arranged to visit the smaller island.
The resort also features a professional dive centre, well stocked shop, games area and swimming pool within the tropical gardens.
