A boutique heritage hotel located in a former 1920s Peranakan shophouse, Noordin Mews not only sits in a prime location in the heart of Penang but gets extra bonus points for the incredibly charming accommodation. Abandoned after its purpose declined over the years, the main hotel building was rediscovered by an acclaimed hotelier, who skilfully restored it to its glorious years, coupled with modern times’ finer touches.
Mews rooms on the first floor, or garden side, invoke the classiness of 1950’s Shanghai. A sanctuary of calm is created with natural lighting, ornate carvings and the framed photos from the 1900’s which adorn the walls. Larger suites offer a spacious living area.
The common area equipped with family board games features beautiful antique furniture, whilst a small garden offers a place to relax or enjoy a swim in the welcoming pool. Curl up with a book in the cosy library or enjoy massages in-room. A simple breakfast is served daily by the excellent in-house team who guarantee all guests a truly personalised service.
