With only 11 rooms, Chonor House is a small and intimate hotel that was designed and built by David Porter, an established British architect. It sits conveniently close by to McLeod Ganj and is within walking distance of Thekchen Choling Temple and the Dalai Lama’s residence. Due to the use of local stone and slate the hotel seamlessly blends into the natural landscape; the views of the Kangra valley are wonderful and the property feels nicely away from the hustle and bustle of McLeod Ganj. Inside you’ll notice a strong Tibetan influence in both the décor as well as the delicious food. We feel this is a charming option and ideally suited to those who like authentic and intimate hotels.
