With views over Udaipur’s Lake Pichola, Amet Haveli is a simple and well-located heritage property that boasts one of Udaipur’s most popular restaurants. With only 15 rooms it feels quiet and intimate with beautifully kept gardens and a small courtyard area home to a tiny dipping pool. The building dates back to 1734; it was built out of the materials left over from The Lake Palace and you can certainly se the resemblance. It’s full of intricate details that were popular during this time; you’ll find beautifully carve archways, polished white walls, open corridors and stained glass. The rooms are very simple, tasteful and full of character. If you are on a tight budget the Deluxe Rooms are adequate but we suggest going for the Suites that are a little larger and overlook the lake. We feel this is a good value option for those who like character and the ability to walk out directly from the hotel.
