Head out in to the waters around the Bonavista Peninsula to look for the magnificent whales that migrate through the area. Fin, humpback, sperm, minke, and pilot whale are often seen and the focus of the trip is to give you time to observe them playing and feeding, whilst, at the same time, contributing to a wider scientific study. Run by a small, family-owned operator, these excursions gives the experienced guides the opportunity to photograph and document the whales and work closely with other environmental organisations to monitor their movements and health. You may also see various species of dolphins and porpoises, eagles and offshore sea birds, including puffins and nothern gannets. This is a fantastic way to experience and learn about the wildlife here.
