You will never be short of things to do in Vancouver – this is a city which has something for everyone. A good starting places is the Vancouver Lookout which offers panoramic views over downtown Vancouver, Coal Harbour, Stanley Park and the mountains beyond.Complimentary guided tours are available and interpretive displays offer insight in to the city’s history, infrastructure and local communities. At nearby Canada Place, Fly-Over Canada is an interesting 3D attraction, taking you all the way across the country and through its seasons in a magical 25-minute simulated flight. From the waterfront you can either head uphill through the business district and to the shops and restaurants around Robson Street or wander along the shore via Coal Harbour to Stanley Park. If you would like to explore some of the vibrant cultural districts then Gastown, Chinatown and Yaletown are all within walking distance of the main downtown area, though the Vancouver Trolley is also a great way to get around the city.
From the inner harbour at False Creek you can take the ferry across to Granville Island, home to the famous market. This is the kind of place where you can lose yourself for several hours browsing the beautiful arts and crafts and drooling at the impressive array of gastronomic delights – everything from American Do’nuts to German Cheeses, from Asian Spices to Italian antipasti. It’s also a great place to watch the street entertainers and soak up the great Vancouver vibe.
