The watercourse which flows between Alta Lake and Green Lake just outside Whistler is known as the River of Golden Dreams, a scenic stretch of lush, old-growth forest and wildflower lined banks surrounded by beautiful mountain vistas. At twilight the river comes alive with birds and animals moving around in the early evening light and this is a lovely time of day to take a gentle paddle along the waterway. Keep an eye out for black bears, otters, beavers, raccoons, eagles and osprey, and enjoy the golden glow of the sunset against the surrounding snow-capped peaks.
