The mighty Miramichi River and its network of tributaries stretches across New Brunswick and gently discharges in to the Gulf of St Lawrence. The river valley has a mystical quality to it, perhaps due to the wild beauty and peacefulness of the area, or perhaps due to the infectious nature of the Acadian and Irish cultures of the region. Either way, within its waters is a bounty of salmon which makes this a superb spot for fishing. The city of Miramichi itself sits on the estuary and from here you can head inland and fly-fish in the shallower waters of the various tributaries, or head out to sea and test your angling skills from a boat.
