The Bhaya Classic was recreated from the original designs of a boat which dates from 1917, that once belonged to Emperor Khai Dinh when he sailed the bay! This modern take on a classic junk effortlessly manages to mix oriental style with contemporary luxury. It was launched in 2007 and hosts only 20 deluxe cabins, furnished in rather grand Vietnamese Imperial style. These cabins are amongst the largest of all the boats on Halong Bay and provide all that you would need: twin beds or a queen-size bed, air-conditioning, wall fan, refrigerator, en-suite bathroom with shower. As mentioned, all are rather beautifully finished with Vietnamese hardwoods, bamboo screens & white wooden ceilings. Huge windows let in plenty of ambient light, not to mention the continuously changing views of Halong Bay. The Royal Suites also benefit from private verandahs, deep baths & 180° views.
Dining is one of the highlights of The Bhaya Classic. In an atmosphere of elegant luxury, you can enjoy a wonderful array of Vietnamese and International cuisine, served by waitresses wearing traditional costume. Adjoining the Dining Room, Bhaya Classic’s Bar is the perfect spot for a relaxing aperitif – its that kind of boat! If you are craving a bit of pampering, head to the upper deck where you will find both an on-board beauty spa and massage centre. For the more energetic there is always swimming, snorkelling and kayaking (small extra charge for kayaking unfortunately, can only be paid locally).
Morning Tai Chi on the sundeck offers a more meditative and uplifting start to the day.
