The Wild Coast is made for those who enjoy hiking. The miles upon miles of unspoilt, uninterrupted beach are perfect for long walks, crossing lagoon mouths, exploring rock pools and climbing vertiginous and verdant sand dunes, whilst other stretches of the coast are dominated by towering cliffs, threaded by dizzying clifftop footpaths weaving amongst the aloes. All of the hotels and lodges can advise on good, casual, local hikes, but for those seeking longer affairs, there are a series of catered hiking trails that link some of the smaller, more characterful hotels along paths through stunning scenery, and last a number of days.
