Riad Kalaa 2 is something of a rarity in Rabat: a traditional style riad hotel with a pool. In the heart of the most traditional part of the medina, the only part of the city that mirrors more famous rivals like Marrakesh and Fez. Houses are built around peaceful courtyards and rooftops give views over narrow alleyways and a jumble of houses little changed in centuries (except for phone lines and satellite dishes!). Décor is simple, elegant and typically Moroccan, with smooth tadhlakht walls, tiled floors and decorative wooden doors. There’s a spacious roof terrace with a pool, a hammam-spa and a restaurant serving simple, tasty Moroccan dishes.
