Around 30 minutes’ drive north of Agadir you’ll find the laid-back little village of Taghazout. Known predominantly for being a surfers’ paradise, Taghazout is home to a beautiful sandy beach and since a handful of travellers have been coming here for some time to hit the waves, there is a small but strong collection of cafes, bars and restaurants dotted around the village. Surf shops and yoga studios line the streets, and a simple and relaxed way of life is championed by both locals and expats alike.
You could simply come to Taghazout for a lunch stop en route elsewhere during your Morocco tour, or if you want a calm place by the sea for a few days then it’s the ideal spot in Souss province for a couple of nights at a beach hotel.
