Oualidia is famous for its oysters, and they’ve been farmed here for over 50 years. The oysters are not for export, instead destined for local consumption, and you can tour one of the oyster farms to see how the process works before, of course, sampling some of the produce!

The lagoon at Oualidia is also perfect for watersports, especially for beginners: protected from the Atlantic swell and generally shallow enough to stand in, it’s a safe environment for the novice; and for the more accomplished it’s a great place for going flat-out. The other side of the dunes, the big ocean breakers allow experienced windsurfers and kite surfers the chance to test their skills, whilst surfers usually have a couple of decent breaks to choose from.
