Stay in a forest away from the city where elephants roam and experience nature up close in this unique hideaway ecolodge, located some 14km from civilization.
With only 14 rooms, the basic Earth Lodge strives to have a low environmental footprint and practices ecotourism principles. The rooms, whilst not large are very comfortable and feature en-suite bathrooms. The private balcony is also great for relaxing and wildlife spotting. Air-conditioning is not offered, cell phones will not work here and wifi is certainly a no-no so we recommend only traveling here if you are keen for an adventure. Electricity is solar power, with a small generator for the evenings.
The Makan Place (makan means “eat” in Malay) is a communal dining area and main lounge area for all guests. The local guides and boatmen double as chefs, cooking up delicious local food for all meals.
Earth lodge is the base for the Ulu Muda Field Research Centre where they aim to raise awareness on the significance of this important forest landscape and to promote research.
Kindly note that Earth lodge has a no plastic policy but safe drinking water is provided throughout all stays.
