Built by the East India Company, Nadesar Palace has hosted Royalty and statesmen since 1835. It’s now a boutique hotel that provides a magical and sophisticated refuge in one of the world’s oldest and holiest cities. It sits within the verdant grounds of the larger Gateway Hotel Ganges, which is filled with mango orchids, marigold, and jasmine. There are just 10 rooms with three options to choose from: Palace Rooms, Historical Suites, and two Royal Suites. The Palace Rooms are full of character, with wooden four-poster beds draped in luxurious fabrics. These boast views of the lush gardens. The Historical Suites overlook the pool and gardens and the larger Royal Suites have a separate lounge with views of the gardens. There’s also a main swimming pool and a spa.
