The region of Wayanad sits in the hills of northern Kerala, close to the borders of Karnataka to the north, and Tamil Nadu to the east. It’s one of the prettiest regions of Kerala, replete with soaring mountain scenery, coffee cardamom and small rubber plantations, caves, waterfalls and wild elephant. It’s also well known for its tribal community and unique Jain temples. Due to its natural diversity, Wayanad is a fantastic walking destination but also a restful stop and a place to unwind. It combines beautifully with Nagarhole National Park and Mysore, and breaks the journey south to Ooty and Coonoor.
