Rich in biodiversity and hugely rugged, Satpura National Park is one of the least visited national parks in central India but arguably one of its most beautiful. It’s covered in swathes of densely forested hills and is dotted with sandstone peaks, narrow gorges and deep ravines.  Wildlife found here includes tiger, leopard, sambar deer, chital, wild boar, porcupine and a plethora of endemic and migratory birds including hornbills.  It’s also a fantastic place to spot sloth bear. What makes Satpura National Park so rewarding is not only the variety of wildlife and lack of visitors but also the variety of ways to enjoy it; you can explore on foot, in a canoe, and even at night. This is unheard of in other tiger reserves and national parks in India, and makes the experience here truly memorable.
