Pragpur is a unique heritage village less than three hours south of Dharamsala, in the Kangra Valley. It’s fiercely protected by the local residents and the on going conservation programme has ensured the unique character of the village, and its houses, have been protected. Nearby, the peaceful village of Garli, is also worth exploring as that too has heritage status and is also well restored. In both villages you can visit schools and see local cobblers, silversmiths and biscuit makers at work. There are also several textile weavers and outside of the villages it’s possible to enjoy kayaking, bird watching and fishing.
