Day 1
Fly to Calgary today and take a bus transfer to Banff. This is a scenic start to your journey as you enter the majestic Rocky Mountains.
Day 2
You have the day to enjoy the sights of Banff. Take a guided tour which visits a number of local highlights such as the hoodoos and Surprise Corner, and also includes a ride on the Gondola – the views from the top are incredible!
Day 3
Journey along the stunning Icefields Parkway today, a tour that stops at many of the scenic highlights such as Bow Lake and Sunwapta Falls. You will also stop at the Columbia Icefields for a ride on the Athabasca Glacier and take a walk on the glass-bottomed Skywalk before continuing on to Jasper.
Day 4
Join a half day tour today that takes you on a scenic journey along the road to Maligne Lake, stopping at Maligne Canyon and to view Medicine Lake. At Maligne Lake board a boat for a 1.5 hr scenic cruise that takes you out to the famous Spirit Island viewpoint of the magnificent Rockies.
Day 5
Board the Rocky Mountaineer train today and start your journey westwards. You will travel through the beautiful Yellowhead Pass and hopefully see Mount Robson, the Canadian Rockies’ highest mountain, en route. The train then continues along the course of the North Thompson River to Kamloops, where you overnight.
Day 6
A second day on the Rocky Mountaineer and today you pass through a more arid region of interior British Columbia, connecting with the Fraser River Valley before reaching the outskirts of Vancouver.
Day 7
Spend the day exploring the vibrant city of Vancouver. Start with a walk or take the trolley bus around Stanley Park, go up the Vancouver Lookout for fantastic views, or take the little ferry across False Creek to colourful Granville Island markets
Day 8
You have a few hours this morning to relax then around lunchtime board your Holland America cruise. You will have time to settle in to your cabin before the cruise sets sails and starts the journey along the beautiful Inside Passage.
Day 9 - 14
For the next six days journey along the Inside Passage and Alaskan Panhandle. You will see spectacular scenery and stop at some delightful Alaskan towns along the way. There are plenty of shore excursions available from the cruise so you can be sure to get the very best from this experience.
Day 15
The cruise will return to Vancouver today, with guests disembarking after breakfast. You have the option to either head straight to the airport for an overnight flight home or perhaps spend another night in Vancouver – either option can be arranged.

The journey along the Inside Passage from Vancouver is one of spectacular beauty with wild coastal landscapes, towering glaciers and characterful remote Alaskan settlements. Complement this with a journey on the famous Rocky Mountaineer train and spend some time in the Rockies, making use of local excursions and transfers so you don’t have to drive. This itinerary include a great diversity of scenery and some great opportunities to view the Canadian wildlife.
