Day 1
Today we depart the UK and take an indirect flight to Winnipeg, where our winter polar bear adventure begins. Once you arrive, make your way to your hotel and settle in.
Day 2
Enjoy a free day to explore Winnipeg at your own pace. Perhaps check out the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, where you can learn about human rights issues from around the world, including exhibits on Indigenous rights in Canada. Alternatively, if you want to get your wildlife fix early, head to Assiniboine Park Zoo to visit the Journey to Churchill exhibit, which is a great way to introduce yourself to the polar bears.
Day 3
Hop on an early flight from Winnipeg to Churchill this morning and board your transfer to your Churchill hotel upon arrival. Once you are settled, you will take part in a Churchill area tour where you will explore the main sights and learn all about its unique location and history. Later on, you will visit the Parks Canada Visitor Centre and Polar Bears International (PBI) House, where you will gain insights into the Hudson Bay ecosystem and conservation efforts.
Day 4
Boarding a specially designed Tundra Buggy, you will venture into the wilderness for your first chance to spot polar bears, Arctic foxes, and other wildlife. Fortunately, the buggy is heated, so you won’t get too cold; however, there is also an external viewing platform and washroom facilities, ensuring a fully equipped and comfortable day of exploring. In the evening, you will enjoy a cultural presentation by a local resident, where you will learn about Churchill’s local culture and hear personal stories about life in the Arctic.
Day 5
Experience a 1.5 km dog sled ride today, led by a local musher. You’ll be treated to beautiful views of Churchill's landscape. In the afternoon, you will visit the Itsanitaq Museum, where you can explore Inuit artifacts and learn about the culture, art, and traditions of Arctic Indigenous people.
Day 6
Get out this morning for one more day of exploring the wilderness and looking out for polar bears and other wildlife. In the late afternoon, you will board your transfer to the airport to catch your flight back to Winnipeg, where you will be able to check in to your hotel.
Day 7
Your Arctic adventure has come to an end, so today you will depart Winnipeg. You can choose to continue your winter Canadian adventure or head back to the UK.
