Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse is possibly one of the most famous viewpoints along the southern shore, standing proudly on a headland just outside of Halifax. This one hour boat trip is a great addition to your driving route and offers some fantastic photographic opportunities from the water. The boat will cruise past the lighthouse and navigate between several rocky islands to the village of West Dover. This a beautifully rugged stretch of coastline but you will also need to keep one eye on the ocean – seals, tuna, leatherback turtles and sunfish are often spotted. Beneath the surface lobsters, crabs, flounder and pollack lurk, and can be viewed with the live underwater camera.
