Kuching

Tabin Wildlife Reserve

Day 1

Depart on your overnight flight from the UK. Flights can also be arranged from other destinations and we are more than happy to quote without flights if you prefer to make your own way to Kuching.

Day 2

Arrive to Kuching where you will meet with your driver and guide. The afternoon is left free to relax after your flight or enjoy an orientation tour of Kuching with your guide to learn about the history and heritage of Sarawak.

Day 3

A full day tour to Bako National Park - travel by boat to the beach where you will jump into the waters and wade to shore. Explore the national park keeping your eyes peeled for bearded pigs, proboscis monkeys, green pit vipers, flying squirrels and a whole host of tropical birds and other extraordinary wildlife! Walk the trails and relax at park HQ for a local style lunch.

Day 4

Start the morning with a visit to the Semenggoh Orangutan Wildlife Centre. This afternoon head to the Sarawak Cultural Village and Damai Beach. End your day with a cruise in search of dolphins or simply relax in town.

Day 5

Spend the morning with a local Iban family - learn about the local culture of the headhunters - don't worry, they no longer practice this tradition! Enjoy a delicious lunch, witness a blowpipe hunting demo or join them in their daily tasks.

Day 6

This morning fly onwards to Sabah, arriving to Sandakan. Visit the local market, enjoy a traditional English tea and learn about the local customs before an afternoon visit to the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary where you may also be lucky enough to spot the silver leaf monkeys!

Day 7

A full day in Sepilok with visits to the Sun Bear Conservation Centre, Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Time is also left free to relax poolside or laze in a hammock on the lookout for wildlife.

Day 8

Today travel by boat down the Kinabatangan River to your lodge for your next wildlife experience. Here you will enjoy a series of different excursions searching for crocodiles, hornbill, pygmy elephants, monkeys and of course, wild orangutan! By night cruise the waters to witness the fireflies light up the trees before a delicious dinner at your lodge.

Day 9

Visit the Gomantong Caves, walk the trails around your lodge and cruise the waterways in search of more exotic wildlife native to Borneo.

Day 10

Continue by road to Tabin Wildlife Reserve to spend the next two nights in the rainforest - trek to explore and discover wild Orangutan, Elephants and much more. A visit to Tabin will leave you with incredible lifelong memories.

Day 11

A full day exploring Tabin's incredible wildlife.

Day 12

Travel to the beach at Kota Kinabalu choosing from Gaya Island or Shangri La. Arrive and check in to your hotel. The rest of the day is spent relaxing on the white sand beaches in pure paradise.

Day 13

Lazy days on the beach are planned for the rest of your holiday - if you fancy exploring the islands your hotel can assist or we can add on additional tours for you

A final day free on the beach
