Spend the day at a local longhouse – an authentic dwelling of the local Iban people who were once feared for their head-hunting practices (don’t worry, it’s a tradition no longer in practice!).
Explore the longhouse and learn about the lifestyle of these friendly natives whose lives are perfectly intertwined with nature. Witness a traditional dance (ngajat) and demonstrations on the use of a blowpipe – an ancient hunting weapon of the natives that shoot poisonous darts with deadly accuracy. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at the longhouse and chat with the chief to learn more about the history and culture of the Iban people.
