Rincon del Socorro is a wildlife lover’s paradise in the heart of Esteros del Ibera. This former cattle ranch is a bit less accessible than some other properties but offers, we think, the best wildlife experiences due to its remoter location. Arrive either by road or by light aircraft. Great hosts, food and accommodation as well as a strong conservation credentials make this the top choice in the region. The Conservation Land Trust project was set up here to protect the fragile ecosystem and has removed cattle farming on the ranch, reintroduced endangered species and controlled foreign fauna species. These lands are now a real sanctuary for nature and for a total of 350 different bird species.
There is a beautiful outdoor pool, a quincho for outdoor dining, restaurant with excellent wines and a library, as well as beautiful gardens growing organic produce. The very spacious and elegant rooms are dotted around in the main building and in small bungalows in the grounds. There is even the two bedroom Matera apartment ideal for families. Join the guides here to look for birds and mammals in the marshlands on foot, on horse-back, by boat or even by bike or 4wd vehicles, all included in your stay. Sundowners and alfresco barbecues around the ranch are a great highlight.
